The primary source of most Human misery can be attributed not to a faceless evil striving to drag us into the depths of its own misery and punishment but our own fantastic expectations.  As sobering as it may be, if we simply rinsed our high expectations of ourselves in the stream of reality once in a while, not watching others hang their fresh, crisp, spotless linens for all to see, depression may disappear overnight.  Their shirt is beautiful on the outside but you don’t see that they have sacrificed their entire wardrobe for a single, visually appealing rag.  The pictures of beach or ski slope look great on social media, but the person you are comparing yourself to are almost always miserable where it counts in their life.
